Privacy Policy

Benched ("we", "us") helps you quit sports betting. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it. We built Benched to be privacy-first, so we collect as little as possible.

What we store

Your quiz answers, streak, "why", and money-saved figures are stored on your device. We do not require an account, your real name, or any government ID. We never ask you to enter banking details, card numbers, or sportsbook logins.

Website confessions

The confession form does not ask for your name, email or an account. Your message, optional amount and age, and sharing choice are delivered to the Benched team’s inbox through FormSubmit, a third-party form service. This is not an untraceable messaging service: website and form providers may process technical information such as your IP address. Please leave names and identifying details out of your message.

Confessions are private by default. If you choose “Okay to share,” we may publish an anonymous excerpt on Benched’s Instagram or TikTok, removing identifying details and lightly editing for length. If you choose “Keep it private,” we will not publish it. This inbox is not monitored for emergencies.

Benched Report email list

If you sign up at trybenched.com/report, we store your email address, the date you signed up and which link you came from, in Google Firebase. We use it only to send you the Benched Report. We don't sell it, share it, or add it to anything else. Every email includes a way to unsubscribe, and you can ask us to delete your address at any time by emailing trybenched@gmail.com.

The first 30 email list

If you download the first 30 at trybenched.com/start, we store your email address, the date you signed up and which link you came from, in Google Firebase. We use it to send you follow-ups about the plan and, now and then, news from Benched. We don't sell it or share it. Every email includes a way to unsubscribe, and you can ask us to delete your address at any time by emailing trybenched@gmail.com.

App blocking (Screen Time)

If you choose to block betting apps, Benched uses Apple's Family Controls (Screen Time) framework. Apple keeps your app selection and activity entirely on your device and only provides us anonymous tokens, so we never learn which apps you select or how you use them. This data never leaves your phone.

Subscriptions

Subscriptions are processed by Apple and managed through RevenueCat. We receive your subscription status (active / expired) so we can unlock features. We never see or store your payment card details. Apple handles all billing.

Analytics

We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand which features are used and where people drop off, so we can improve the app. This data is aggregated and not used to identify you personally.

What we do NOT do

We do not sell your data. We do not share your personal recovery information with advertisers. We do not track you across other apps or websites.

Your control

You can erase all of your data at any time from Settings → Reset my progress. Deleting the app also removes locally stored data.
